Frequently Asked Question

General Questions

Why chose Alpha Care Center? Because you deserve honest answers, compassionate care, and a safe place to breathe while you figure out what’s next.

That’s completely normal. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come in. We’re here to listen, answer your questions, and help bring clarity-without pressure. You can take things one step at a time.

We provide accurate, unbiased information about parenting, adoption, and abortion so you can make an informed decision. A trained medical professional will walk you through each option, explain what they mean, and answer your questions.

You’re not alone-and you’re not the first person to feel this way. We offer flexible appointment times, including evenings, and we’ll help you explore options that fit your life, goals, and current situation. We can also help with budgeting and practical support.

Yes! Through our Earn While You Learn program, you can attend short parenting or life-skills classes and earn points for diapers, clothing, and baby gear. It’s free, supportive, and designed for real life-not perfection.

Yes. Your visit is private and confidential. We do not contact parents, partners, or anyone else without your permission (unless required by law), and your visit does not go on a hospital or insurance medical record. You’re welcome to come alone or bring someone you trust.

Pregnancy and STD Testing

If you think you might be pregnant, take a deep breath. You are not in trouble. You don’t have to figure this out by yourself. Alpha Care Center offers free, confidential pregnancy services.

Yes – all of our services are free, and you do not need insurance. Our medical-grade pregnancy tests are highly accurate. At-home tests can also be accurate when used correctly, but testing too early may result in a false negative.

That’s completely okay. You don’t have to decide anything right away. Many people come in just to get information and take a breath. We’ll meet you where you’re at.

Yes. A trained medical professional will review your results with you, explain your options, and help you think through what comes next-both emotionally and practically.

That can be really hard. We support you and can help you think through conversations, boundaries, and next steps-without pressure or judgment.

Yes. It’s possible to be pregnant and have an STD at the same time, and many STDs don’t cause symptoms right away. You can also experience spotting, bleeding, or changes in your cycle and still be pregnant. Stress, birth control, or taking Plan B can affect your period but don’t always rule out pregnancy. If you’re unsure, testing can give you clarity and peace of mind.

Limited OB Ultrasound

If you have a positive pregnancy test result, the next step is to get an ultrasound. An ultrasound will confirm your pregnancy is viable (can progress), is in the right location (your uterus), and can determine how far along you are based on the size of the fetus

Yes. We provide free, limited obstetric ultrasounds once your pregnancy is confirmed.

We typically schedule ultrasounds between 8-12 weeks gestation.

Licensed medical professionals trained in limited obstetric ultrasound. All our ultrasounds are reviewed by a licensed Ob/Gyn physician.

No. Your visit does not go into a hospital or insurance medical record.

An ultrasound provides clear, medical information about your pregnancy. It can confirm that the pregnancy is in the uterus, estimate how far along you are, and help guide next steps. For many people, it also brings reassurance-because having real answers can make everything feel a little less overwhelming.

Material Services

In collaboration with BrightCourse, Alpha Care Center’s Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program allows clients to earn points by watching evidenced-based lessons. Points earned are used to purchase material supplies from our Alpha Store.

The program is available to clients who are pregnant or parenting a child under the age of 5. If you’re not sure whether you qualify, just ask-we’re happy to help.

Classes cover topics like pregnancy, parenting, infant care, healthy relationships, and life skills. We even have several series that are just for fathers. The goal is to give you practical, real-life tools-not overwhelm you.

You can earn items like diapers, wipes, baby & toddler clothing, maternity clothing, blankets, baby furniture, and many other essentials. Items vary based on availability and your stage of parenting.

Great question! We typically schedule classes every two weeks. We schedule an hour for each class so you have our undivided attention. Most lessons are less than 30 minutes.

Yes. We have a list of other ways you can earn points. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending church services
  • Confirming & keeping your appointment
  • Bringing in a donation to the Center
  • Attending medical appointments
